Bathford and Its Neighbourhood
In 1871 Henry Duncan Skrine of Warleigh Manor read a paper before the Bath Literary Club and subsequently at the Bathford school entitled "A Sketch of the Early History of Bathford and Its Neighbourhood". The talk was subsequently printed as a hardback book and a copy was donated to the society by Rev. K B Flenbey. The book has been scanned and put on the website as a downloadable PDF file.
The paper covers various aspects of the local history back to Roman times with many details which must be regarded as speculative due to the lack of substantial supportive historical artefacts and evidence. The content is shown in its entirety, without prejudice to its accuracy or provenance.
